The Honda Shuttle is a very popular station wagon in the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market); it is sold new in Japan. In New Zealand, it’s imported as a used car. The Shuttle is based on the Honda Jazz/Fit and shares the same engine and proven reliability. Whether $23K is worth it depends largely on the year, condition, and kilometres. A 2021-2022 model in great condition with around 21,000 km at that price is a solid buy. Based on a review of multiple trusted sources, this sits at fair market value for what you’re getting.
| Year | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 2022 | $18,295-$22,995 | Best value at this price point. Low-km examples (21K) justify the higher price, expect Honda Sensing, modern infotainment, and minimal wear. Only pick if budget allows |
| 2021 | $16,980-$20,990 | Strong choice. Mid-range km (67K) at $20,990 is reasonable. Avoid the 113K example unless inspected thoroughly, higher km for the age |
| 2020 | $16,900-$17,980 | Narrow price band but both listings carry 70K+ km. Fair pricing for the year; good daily driver but not a standout deal |
| 2019 | $14,495-$15,995 | Decent entry into newer-gen Shuttles. Watch out for the Petrol HV X at 127K km, high mileage for the price. The 68K hybrid at $15,995 is the better pick |
| 2018 | $13,980-$14,950 | Both examples carry high km (87K–120K). Acceptable if well-maintained, but factor in potential service costs. Best for budget-conscious ones |
| 2017 | $10,800-$15,980 | Wide price gap reflects condition and km difference. The petrol at $10,800 with 137K km is a risk. The hybrid at $15,980 (77K km) is far better value |
| 2016 | $11,500-$18,995 | Biggest price spread of any year. The X Hybrid at $18,995 with only 26K km is a hidden gem; exceptional low mileage for a 2016. Worth serious consideration |
| 2015 | $7,999-$14,995 | Avoid the 208K km listing. The X Hybrid at $14,995 with 71K km is solid for the price if budget is tight |
| 2014 | $7,990-$8,500 | High km across the board (130K-142K). Entry-level budget buys only; ideal for those who need cheap reliable transport and are handy with maintenance |
| 2013 | $7,990-$13,995 | The Fit Shuttle at $7,990 has very high km (174K), only for bargain hunters or project buyers. The $13,995 example at 84K km is overpriced for a 2013 |
| 2012 | $8,480-$8,990 | Surprisingly, the $8,990 listing has only 44K km, excellent for the age and price. A potential sleeper buy if condition checks out |
